The DANCE CO. of St. Charles was conceived in 1984 to give the young dancers in the St. Charles/St. Louis area a place to develop their talents and gain performing experience beyond the dancing school level. The Company not only offers opportunities to dancers, but also to those interested in stage and lighting design, costume design, choreography, and music composition.

Artistic Directors Tracy Davenport and Deborah Davenport train the dancers to rehearse and perform in a professional manner whether staging works from the company’s repertoire or working with a guest choreographer.

Serving its purpose well, DANCE CO. alumni have gone to careers with professional ballet, jazz, modem, and tap companies such as The State Ballet of Missouri, Ballet West, San Francisco Ballet, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Burning Feet Dance, Jan Erkert’s Modem Dance, and Manhattan Tap to name a few. Alumni have also appeared in Musical Theatre companies across the country and abroad.
